RMI Celebrates Women and the Work of CARE in the Office
March is an important month for women. It is both women's history month and also the month of International Women's Day (March 8th) in which the spirit of empowering women is celebrated throughout the world...and is even considered an official holiday in many countries!
To celebrate, RMI held a Women's Awareness Day on March 11th, 2011. Because our client, CARE, has many initiatives and programs to improve the lives of women and girls around the globe, we incorporated awareness and advocacy for CARE into our special day.
In addition to RMI’s donation to CARE in honor of International Women’s Day, our company encouraged employees to learn more about CARE’s programs which address critical issues for women in under-developed areas such as maternal health, education, and earning opportunities.
Posters, information, and resources were set up at the front of our office and employees enjoyed reading all about CARE’s impact on women. A special video from CARE about the importance of giving young girls everywhere the opportunity for an education was emailed around the office. (

We also held a women’s history trivia challenge in which departments worked together to answer multiple choice questions about famous, historical women. Each department was given 20 minutes in our conference room to come up with their answers. The team that got the most right, our management department, won and will be getting a free lunch party next week! Way to go, guys!
